Caregiver Responsibilities

Direct Service Providers, also known as Home Care Providers, assist clients with everyday activities such as: bathing, dressing, eating, cooking, cleaning, exercising, providing transportation, and administering medications. As both a caregiver and a companion, growing a friendship with clients is encouraged.

Job Requirements

The following is required from all Direct Support Professionals (DSPs):

• At least 18 years of age
• A High School Diploma or GED
• A Background Check
• CPR certification
• First Aid certification
• DSP certification (3.5 hour online course offered through DODD)
• Medication Administration Certification
• A Driver’s License in good standing
